How to Apply Discounts in Alto’s POS

With Alto’s POS, you can apply percentage or specific amount discounts to your sales. Percentage discounts are applicable to both ticket’s total amount and individual products, whereas amount discounts can only be applied to ticket’s total amount. Also note that all discounts are applied before taxes.

Make sure that you have discounts created beforehand.

Applying discounts to specific products

1.     Go to Point of Sale > Sales.

2.     Tap ordered product(s) to add them to your ticket.

3.     To apply a discount to a specific product, tap on it in the ticket.

4.     On the product window, under the Discounts section select the one you want to apply and tap Save.

5.     The ticket amount is now re-calculated taking into account the discount. Discount sign will show up next to the product and the Discounts line with the discount value will appear in the lower part of the ticket.

6.     Proceed to checkout as usual.

Applying discounts to the total ticket amount

1.     Go to Point of Sale > Sales.

2.     Tap ordered product(s) to add them to your ticket.

3.     Tap Discounts on the sales screen.

4.     Choose and tap on the discount to apply it to the whole order. The ticket amount is now re-calculated taking into account the discount. Discount signs will show up next to all products and the Discounts line with the total discount value will appear in the lower part of the ticket.

6.     Proceed to checkout as usual.

Cancelling /removing discounts

To cancel / remove the discount:

1.     Tap the Discount line on the ticket.

2.     On the pop-up window, select the Trash icon to remove/cancel it.

3.     The ticket amount is now re-calculated taking into account the removed discount.
